Python code examples and sample data of “LiDAR Principles, Processing and Applications in Forest Ecology”
LiDAR Principles, Processing and Applications in Forest Ecology (in Chinese)
Light detection and ranging (LiDAR), as an emerging active remote sensing technology, provides a new three-dimensional (3D) view for ecology studies. It pushes ecology studies to transform from two-dimensional to 3D. This book introduces the principle of LiDAR technology and how to collect and process LiDAR data from different platforms based on real-world experience. It provides users with state-of the-art algorithms on how extract forest parameters from LiDAR and use them in forest ecology applications. It allows users to see LiDAR technology from as interdisciplinary view of remote sensing and forest ecology. Because LiDAR is still at the stage of rapid development, reader usually need to use programming language to understand and process LiDAR data. Therefore, this book provides readers with Python code examples and sample data.
